When we were children, there was nothing better than getting on a bike, or anything with wheels for that matter. There's a wonderful sense of freedom you get when you hop on a bike, and as you pick up speed, the wind rushing past is truly exhilarating. Bike riding gives you a sense of pure joy, a feeling of freshness and aliveness. You feel free and in control of the world around you. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our daily lives gave us the same sense of happiness and freedom that we get when we ride a bike? How do we capture that laugh-out-loud feeling of pure joy? It comes from a feeling of confidence that all is right with the world. When we feel safe and secure, we are comfortable with our world, and then we become free to experience joy in whatever we do. Life can be compared to riding a bike. Most of the time, it is smooth sailing, or in this case, riding. But every now and then, we hit a bump in the road. We can usually maintain our balance, but sometimes our balance is thrown off, and we fall over and off the bike. Sometimes it happens all too quickly and often it can be difficult to climb back on again. But if we wear protective gear, we are less likely to seriously injure ourselves and the ability to get back on the bike is easier as a result. In our daily life, we have to protect ourselves - physically, emotionally and of course financially, so that when we encounter a bump in the road, we are ready to cope with it. If we are prepared, our bike ride through life becomes the joyful experience it was meant to be. Bike riding is something I've always loved. Here are a few fun bike and scooter riding photos to share with you. The Ladder of Life
Welcome to my Blog. I am an Investment Advisor living and working in Port Alberni, but just as importantly, I am a wife, mother, volunteer, and an active and supportive community member. I believe we can all take charge of our destiny, our future, with the proper mind-set, sense of direction, goals and tenacity to attain what we dream about. Think of your life as a ladder, with the steps numbered one through ten. The top of the steps represents the best possible life we can have, while the bottom is the worst. Where do you feel you personally stand at this point in your life? Where would you like to stand? I believe we all have the power to get to that top step, and I hope that some of the blog posts in the weeks and months to come, will inspire you to get there.
