The Ladder of Life
Welcome to my Blog. I am an Investment Advisor living and working in Port Alberni, but just as importantly, I am a wife, mother, volunteer, and an active and supportive community member. I believe we can all take charge of our destiny, our future, with the proper mind-set, sense of direction, goals and tenacity to attain what we dream about. Think of your life as a ladder, with the steps numbered one through ten. The top of the steps represents the best possible life we can have, while the bottom is the worst. Where do you feel you personally stand at this point in your life? Where would you like to stand? I believe we all have the power to get to that top step, and I hope that some of the blog posts in the weeks and months to come, will inspire you to get there.

Ride the Rim || Port Alberni Investment Advisor
The ninth annual Ride the Rim 110 km bike ride took place on a beautiful spring day on Friday, May 11, 2012. I am an avid cyclist, and I am always passionate about helping people. Ride the Rim is one way I can bring those two interests together for a good cause. I support several charitable organizations, and I started the Ride the Rim event nine years ago to help raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Diabetes Association. The support has been tremendous and each year we gain more riders. We began our ride just past 9:00 in the morning in Ucluelet, and the first rider rolled into Port Alberni a little after lunch time. The weather couldn't have been better and the ride was spectacular! ReMax Mid Island Realty has been the long-time sponsor of this event, and a huge thank you goes out to them, and all the other volunteers who helped to make this event possible. New riders are always welcome, so please think about joining us next year! Here are a few photos from our great Ride the Rim 2012 day!

The photos are gorgeous and Erika really caught that sparkle in your eye. I enjoyed driving Herbs truck, and I felt totally like a Mother Hen protecting the cyclists on the way home. Thanks again, it was wonderful.
